Rebates for used electric vehicles: 2015 models now qualify!

In early April, the Québec Government announced the introduction of a pilot project to encourage purchases of used electric vehicles. The pilot project, under the authority of Transition énergétique Québec, offers a rebate of up to $4,000 for the purchase of an eligible, all-electric, used vehicle. To comply with the conditions for payment of the rebate, the all-electric vehicles must be imported and must be three or four years old

New!

Transition énergétique Québec has announced that 2015 models are now eligible for the program immediately, rather than on January 1, 2018. This will increase the supply and number of used all-electric vehicles that meet the pilot project conditions.

Many of these vehicles are expected to be available for import to Québec in the fall of 2017. Ask your dealer for information! Under this provision, a new vehicle has now become eligible for the rebate: the Kia Soul EV (2015 model).

Below is a list of the vehicles that are eligible for the current pilot project:

Brand Model Year Rebate on purchase
BMW i3 2014-2015 $4,000
Chevrolet Spark EV 2014-2015 $4,000
Ford Focus électrique 2013-2014-2015 $4,000
Kia Soul EV 2015 $4,000

Note: 2013 models will no longer be eligible for the pilot project as from January 1, 2018.
