Title Sector Agency Energy

Efficient Farming Products

The Program offers farmers a rebate on the purchase and installation of lighting products and more efficient farm equipment.
The Program has five components: Lighting, Milking Equipment, Heat Pads, Piglet Warmers, and Fans.
Agriculture Hydro-Québec

Buildings Program

The Buildings Program offers customers financial assistance to implement energy efficiency measures while carrying out projects in commercial or institutional buildings.
Commercial, Institutional, Municipal Hydro-Québec

Condensing boiler

The purpose of this program is to save on the consumption of natural gas. It is aimed at commercial and institutional clients who are looking to buy or to rent a condensing boiler with an efficiency rating of 90% or better. All Gazifère commercial and institutional clients are eligible.
Commercial, Institutional, Municipal Gazifère

Condensing boilers

This program offers a grant to encourage the purchase and installation of a condensing boiler, which uses part of the latent heat energy from combustion exhaust to heat premises and processes. Eligible boilers must have an efficiency rating of at least 90%. The program is intended for at existing buildings as well as new constructions, and may be of interest to both current and new customers.
Commercial, Institutional, Municipal, Industrial, Agriculture, Agri-food Gaz Métro

Condensing unit heater

This program offers a grant to encourage the acquisition and installation of a condensing unit heater with an efficiency rate of more than 90%. Suspended from the ceiling, the unit quickly heats large areas. Since the surface of a condensing heater unit’s heat exchanger is larger than that of a standard unit heater, a larger portion of the heat in combustion exhaust is recovered by the unit. The program is intended for at existing buildings as well as new constructions, and may be of interest to both current and new customers. It’s perfect for warehouses, loading docks and other large areas that need to be heated quickly.
Commercial, Institutional, Municipal, Industrial, Agriculture, Agri-food Gaz Métro

Condensing water heater

This program offers a grant to encourage the acquisition and installation of a condensing water heater with an efficiency rating of at least 90%. Eligible water heaters are very efficient because they reuse part of the latent heat energy from combustion exhaust. They are able to quickly produce large amounts of hot water. The program is intended for at existing buildings as well as new constructions, and may be of interest to both current and new customers.
Commercial, Institutional, Municipal, Industrial, Agriculture, Agri-food Gaz Métro

Demand-Side Management

Hydro-Québec’s demand-side management (DSM) measure is designed to encourage customers to reduce their buildings’ power demand during Hydro-Québec’s winter peaks.
Commercial, Institutional, Industrial Hydro-Québec

Energy innovation

This program offers a grant to encourage the development of new technologies or the innovative use of existing technologies with promising energy efficiency potential. The program enables project proponents (e.g. professional associations, manufacturers, customers) to reduce the costs of carrying out their experimental or demo project.
Commercial, Institutional, Municipal, Industrial, Agriculture, Agri-food, Technological Innovation, Transport Gaz Métro

Energy-efficient renovations

This program offers a grant to carry out renovations to improve the thermal envelope of buildings to make them more energy efficient. The work can involve replacing the windows, insulating the walls, insulating the roof, sealing the building, installing thermal screens for greenhouses, etc. It is applicable to customers who own or rent commercial or multi-unit buildings with four or more units or greenhouses, whose primary heating is natural gas.
Commercial, Institutional, Municipal, Industrial, Agriculture, Agri-food, Residential Gaz Métro

Feasibility studies and energy simulations

This program offers a grant to conduct a feasibility study covering energy efficiency measures. Carried out by an engineering consulting firm accredited by Gaz Métro, a study such as this helps identify opportunities to improve the energy consumption of a building or process and suggests means of exploiting those opportunities. When the recommended measures are implemented, it is possible to substantially reduce energy consumption and related costs.
Commercial, Institutional, Municipal, Industrial, Agriculture, Agri-food Gaz Métro
