The Rénoclimat program promotes energy efficient renovations, specifically retrofits that are completed for the purpose of reducing a home’s energy consumption while improving its level of comfort. Financial assistance is available for each type of eligible retrofit.

Overview of grant amounts

In order to receive financial assistance from the Rénoclimat program, all the eligibility criteria must be met for each type of retrofits. Do not hesitate to discuss this subject with your Rénoclimat energy advisor during your home assessment.

The eligible retrofits and the amount of financial assistance associated with each type of work are detailed in this section. They can also be found in the Participant's Guide (in French only).

Canada Greener Homes Grant

If you need a loan to finance your renovations, please visit Canada Greener Homes Loan (canada.ca) for more information. Home owners must submit their loan application and get it approved before starting their retrofits.

Multi-unit residential buildings

Do you own a duplex, triplex or multiple-unit residential building? Financial assistance granted under the Rénoclimat program will be higher than for single-family homes.

Ineligible retrofits

Some retrofits do not significantly improve the energy performance of a home and are not eligible for financial assistance from the Rénoclimat program.

Steps to follow

To qualify for the Rénoclimat program, you must wait for the pre-retrofit energy evaluation before undertaking any renovations. Once you have completed your renovations, you can request a post-work energy evaluation.
